How We Work
Our reasons for becoming insurance professionals are deeply personal. We repeatedly saw friends and family struggling to find the coverage they needed. We are confident that with our understanding of the insurance space, we can help people better prepare for the future. After years in the business, we have developed a reputation for educating individuals in an easy-to-understand manner, so they can easily grasp personal insurance concepts. Above all else, we feel a commitment to our community.

Medicare Basics
Medicare is the federal government program that provides health care coverage if you are 65+, under 65 and receiving Social Security Disability Insurance for a certain amount of time, or under 65 and with End-Stage Renal Disease.

Medicare Part A
In general, Medicare Part A covers: inpatient care in a hospital, skilled nursing facility care, nursing home care, hospice care, and home health care.

Medicare Part B
Medicare Part B covers medically necessary services and preventative services, such as: clinical research, ambulance services, durable medical equipment, mental health, and limited outpatient prescription medications.

Medicare Advantage (Part C)
Medicare Advantage, sometimes known as “Part C,” is something of a catch-all choice for those who are ready to sign up for Medicare. Medicare Advantage plans are offered by private insurers in conjunction with the Medicare program, and can provide you with additional health insurance coverage.

Medicare Part D (Prescription Drug Coverage)
If you have a Medicare Advantage plan and you want Part D Rx coverage, you will have to enroll in a plan that covers both medical and drug, also known as an MAPD plan. If you have a Medicare Supplement plan you can enroll in a stand-alone (PDP) Prescription Drug Part D plan.

Medicare Annual Enrollment
Medicare’s Annual Enrollment period (AEP) is the time of year that you can make changes to your Medicare coverage. The best things to look into are:
- First and foremost, check to see if your plan continues to cover the doctors, hospitals and other providers that you see for medical care.
- Will your plan have a premium and if it does what will it be?
- Also look at what your out-of-pocket costs for care will be. Compare deductibles, copays and coinsurance. Be sure to examine if there are limits on the number of visits or treatments for certain services like therapies.
