(If You're in an Accident)?
The simple answer?
If you add the coverage on to your policy.
The fancy insurance word for this is rental reimbursement.
It’s different with every company but normally they have set dollar amounts they will cover per day for the replacement transportation if your car’s to dinged up to drive.
Even though your auto policy will cover it, you might want to ask yourself the question if you need it?
What I mean by that is, do you have a spare vehicle to use when one of you main cars is out of commission after an accident?
Also, you have to ask yourself how many times you will be involved in an accident where your car can’t be driven?
Can you live without for a few days?
Can you make it with one family car?
These are just a few of the questions you are going to want to consider when deciding if rental reimbursement coverage is truly needed.
Don’t just blindly slap it on your auto policy because that’s what you’ve always done. Take a few minutes and look at your specific situation and decide if it’s needed.
